With the goal of improving value for money, the Global Fund is increasing pressure on CCMs and grant recipients to standardize unit costs for grant proposals, renewals, and CCM Expanded Budgets. Due essentially to the lack of coordination among stakeholders very few countries have managed to harmonize costs for similar activities. This situation often results in dramatic delays in grant signatures, disbursements, and program implementation.
AFRAVIT will be hosting the 6th Francophone HIV/AIDS Conference in Geneva from March 25 to 29, attended by AIDS researchers, clinicians and activists from all over the French-speaking world. Now in its eighth year, the biannual event brings together delegates from North and South to share the latest on progress and challenges in the fight against the AIDS pandemic. Geneva, home of the major multilateral agencies engaged in this effort, is for once not neutral territory, in the context of the current crisis of rising healthcare and prevention needs in the least-developed nations.
Since signing the articles of incorporation in May 2011, the four founder members of zeGOgroup have been working tirelessly to launch their ambitious new initiative, aiming to provide a new response to the growing development needs of countries and institutions through a radically new approach to technical support. Both innovative and pragmatic, it aims to offer complementary and follow-on support to urgent and short-term interventions to ensure sustainable results.
