A certified public accountant, Wassim also holds a post at the University of Tunis, where he teaches accountancy, audit and internal financial control. He is a specialist in financial feasibility and procedures, expenditure audit, and development of reporting and financial analysis tools, as well as strategies to combat fraud and money laundering. He was a key contributor to CCM reform in Tunisia, with emphasis on grant oversight and development of Dashboard to oversee Global Fund grants. He speaks Arabic, French and English.
